  • Make a Financial Donation. Your money goes a long way to support your community. From purchasing the latest materials, providing unique items, offering wonderful programs for all ages and keeping the building in good shape.   • Memorial & Honor Book Program. A memorial or honor gift to the Shaler North Hills Library is one that can be opened again and again. Your gift will enable the library to purchase books and materials in memory of, or in honor of, relatives, friends or a special occasion. The materials we purchase reach thousands of people.   • A Qualified Charitable Distribution from your IRA when you turn 73.  Your gift to SNHL may count towards your Required Minimum Distribution and won’t increase your taxable income.   Contact your financial advisor or institution and let them know you would like to make a QCD for the Shaler North Hills Library.  The gift must be made directly from your financial institution.   • Volunteer! The library offers a variety of volunteer opportunities, especially helping with maintaining our collection of materials, program support, and more. Learn More
  • Donate gently used books, puzzles, games, music cds and dvds.  We sell magazines that are less than 2-years old. Consider donating your recently read bestseller and we will add it to our collection with gratitude!  SNHL uses donations in good condition in a lot of ways:  prizes, collection swap for condition, and the Friends of the Library used book sale.  Please recycle magazines older than 2-years, encyclopedias, VHS, cassette, National Geographic Magazines, and books that are buggy, smelly or in poor condition.  Thank you so much!

Love Your Library Month: In partnership with Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, ACLA and The Buncher Foundation, September is Love Your Library!  Every donation to SNHL qualifies for a prorated match.

Library Giving Day: is a one-day fundraising event with the goal of encouraging people who depend on and enjoy public libraries to donate to their individual library. And in turn, that support will go toward the incredible programs, services and materials provided by local libraries all over the country.
