First-Floor Restroom Update!
As you know we started the first-floor, single-use, restroom at the beginning of May. Adding a restroom to the lowest part of the building required a lot of planning and many details. With an older building, details become problems and problems become delays. But we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and expect for the new restroom to function in full just in time for the second-floor remodel. Why the changes? We want our whole community to be able to use their library! Including those with mobility issues or those who have companion care. Plus, it’s the law. SNHL is proud to let our community know that we will be one of very few public spaces in the area with a changing table for adults and an adjustable sink.
The second-floor restrooms remodel requires the library to add space to be wheelchair accessible, as well. Of which we are very excited and proud! The restrooms are over (40) years old and are in need of upgrade. But! It will cause significant impact on the use of library restrooms. Make a plan before you head upstairs! If you can and are willing, use the outside portable restroom. It is very clean and cared for by Mr. John. Or visit the first-floor restroom. Keep in mind, there maybe a line! We expect the second-floor project to take approximately 9 weeks. There will be a lot of noise, dust and contractor traffic! Thank you for your support and kindness.
