Starting May 1st, the Allegheny County Library Association will be implementing a daily spending cap to Hoopla. This sets a dollar amount limit that, once reached, will pause Hoopla checkouts until the next day. Unfortunately, because of the vendor’s business model, libraries in the county can’t keep up with the financial demand.
This is a collective limit, not to be confused with the personal check out limit, which remains at 5 per month.
You will encounter new messaging in the app and browser experiences. The photo below shows you what to expect from Hoopla messaging.
Please use the Favorites button in Hoopla to build a curated collection to choose from so that you can borrow quickly when the loan period opens daily.
Get more out of Hoopla with BingePass (special collections of unlimited content) and Bonus Borrows (specific titles that are available at the last week of the month).
We apologize for this and hope to discover more resources that work within library budgets. Thank you for your kindness and support. We are grateful.
