Voting Information
| IMPORTANT DATES May 4, 2026 – Registration Deadline Last day to register to vote before the Primary Election. May 12, 2026 – Ballot Request Deadline Polls are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Last day for return of mail-in and civilian absentee ballots. If you plan to vote in person on Tuesday, May 19, you can check on your polling place location here. You’ll need your municipality, ward, and district to identify your polling place. If you don’t have that information, you can find it here. Polling places are open from 7 AM to 8 PM. Voters in line at 8 PM will be allowed to vote. |
| OVER THE COUNTER VOTING UNDERWAY AT COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING

Ahead of the May 19 Primary Election, Allegheny County offers over the counter voting at the County Office Building located at 542 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh, 15219.
This opportunity is available from now through May 12th, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The County Office Building will also serve as a Satellite Voting Office on Saturday and Sunday, May 9 and 10, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Staff at the County Office Building will also accept mail-in ballot returns during regular building business hours. After over the counter voting has ended on May 12, ballot return will continue to be available during business hours through Election Day, May 19. Ballot return hours will be extended on Election Day, running from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Anyone in line at 8:00 pm will be allowed to return their ballot.
Leading up to the May 19 Primary Election, Allegheny County will also staff Ballot Return Sites and Satellite Offices around the county. Learn more about their times and locations in previous issues of Allegheny Votes.
Reminders:
1. Photography and filming inside of voting and ballot return locations is prohibited.
2. Voters may return only their own ballots. No one may return a ballot for another voter unless they also provide a completed designated agent form.

If you applied for and voted by mail-in ballot in the Primary Election, and if you checked the box on the application requesting mail-in ballots for the rest of the year, there is no need to apply again. Unsure whether you have already applied? Before you apply again, check your status on Online/Absentee Ballot Tracking (pa.gov). With your name, your birthdate, and your county, you can see where you are in the process of applying for a mail-in or absentee ballot.
