Have you always wanted to explore your family history but were not sure where to begin? Maybe you’ve dabbled on Ancestry.com but then became even more confused! Or have a family mystery you want to delve into? Now’s your chance to learn the process and resources from an expert!

Elissa Scalise Powell, CG, CGL, is co-director of the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh (GRIP), past-president of the Board for Certification of Genealogists, an instructor for the Virtual Institute of Genealogical Research (VIGR), and coordinator of the IGHR “Professional Genealogy” course. She was an instructor and creator of part of Boston University’s Genealogical Research Certificate course. She has been involved in ProGen Study since the beginning, being the mentor for groups 1 and 25. She was awarded the 2017 Association of Professional Genealogists Professional Achievement Award.
